County Commission Office
The governing body of Wilcox County is the Wilcox County Commission, consisting of five members elected by the citizens of Wilcox County.
Circuit Court Clerk
The Circuit Clerk is the chief administrative and fiscal officer for the court system at the District and Circuit Level.
Probate Court
Probate court is a segment of the judicial system that primarily handles such matters as wills, estates, conservatorships and guardianships.
Revenue Commissioner
Services performed by the Revnue Commissioner include mapping, appraisal, assessment and collection of taxes.
License Commissioner
The License Commissioner handles motor vehicle, conservation and boat licenses, drivers licenses and business privilege.
Sheriff's Department
The Sheriff’s Department works with local, state, and federal agencies to make our community a safe place to live and work.
Road & Bridge
The Wilcox County Engineer is responsible for maintaining all county roads and bridges in the county.

The Wilcox County EMA will prepare and respond to emergencies and disasters in Wilcox County.
Our History
Wilcox County was created One day older than the state of Alabama by an act of the Alabama Territorial Legislature on December 13th, 1819. The county was created from portions of Dallas and Monroe counties, which in turn were created from Creek Indian lands acquired by the United States in the 1814 Treaty of Fort Jackson.
Location
According to the 2000 census, the county has a total area of 907.46 square miles (2,350.3 km2), of which 888.68 square miles (2,301.7 km2) (or 97.93%) is land and 18.78 square miles (48.6 km2) (or 2.07%) is water.
